This is a black and white portrait format image. Taken from above, it depicts five people sitting on the lower steps of a tiled staircase. A sixth person stands at the bottom of the staircase. Four of the people are sat on different steps arranged on the diagonal, from the top right of the frame to middle left. A chevron effect is created by the fifth seated person and the person standing, who are arranged on the diagonal from the middle left to the bottom right of the frame. All of the seated people are facing towards the bottom of the frame. The person standing has their body facing the steps, but is looking over the left shoulder out of the bottom of the frame. The image is spontaneous and not posed - the people are sheltering from the heat of the day at the Plaza de España, Sevilla. Taken with a Sony RX100.
